Eastman Guitar

You are viewing a wonderful Eastman Grand Auditorium sized guitar.   All solid woods.....East Indian Rosewood back, sides and headstock overlay, Engelmann spruce top, ebony fingerboard and bridge and maple binding all around the body, fingerboard, headstock and end wedge.  Abalone rosette.   1 3/4 nut and 2 3/16 saddle spacing with 25.4 scale.

I purchased this brand new recently and have been very suprised by the build quality and the tone of the instrument.  It equals many boutique guitars I've owned over the years at three times the price.  I also owned  an Eastman AC812, but this one is head and shoulders better.   Only reason I'm letting it go is that I won a contest for a handmade acoustic and it's nearing completion.  These 800 series Eastmans are discontinued and getting harder and harder to find.  

The ONLY imperfection on the guitar is shown in the last picture.  I haven't put a mark in a guitar in over 20 years, but I dropped a Shubb capo on the upper bass bout and it left this mark.  You can't feel it when you rub your finger across it, but because the nitro finish is so thin on these, it kind of "shattered" it, I guess.  The line across the lower bout in the first picture is a reflection of the edge of the couch it's setting on, NOT an imperfection in the top.

 I've just cleaned and conditioned the fingerboard, polished the frets and installed a fresh set of light guage GHS Juber signature bronze strings....it's ready to go.   I also slightly tweaked the setup.....lowering the saddle and evening out the nut slots.  I've been at this for 35 years and do most of my own tech work, so rest assured it's as good as it can get!
